Qatar Airways Cargo publicizes the launch of operations of Boeing 777 freighter twice a week, to four new destinations in the Americas. The operations are said to take off in early February 2017 for Air freight.
Covering the South American cities of Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Quito (the latter depends on governmental approval), the freighters will also see the city of Miami in its route, in the US.
The flights are placed to depart from Doha; the home base of the Middle East Cargo carrier. While on the journey via its European hub–Luxembourg, the Boeing 777 freighter will stop in Brazil’s Sao Paulo, Ecuador’s Quito and in Argentina’s Buenos Aires.
On its return journey of air freight, the freighters will take a halt at Miami, Florida and Luxembourg before landing to its home base in Doha.
The core of these new freighter service aspires to meet the mounting demand for import and export trade in the region. It will also add to the belly-hold cargo capability on Qatar Airway’s every day flights for air freight to Miami, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires.
Qatar Airways’ chief officer cargo, Ulrich Ogiermann said, “These new destinations will connect the burgeoning import and export markets in the Americas region with the rest of the world. Through our expertise in specialized solutions, namely QR Pharma for pharmaceuticals and QR Fresh for perishables, we are able to offer our customers a seamless and an unbroken cool chain for their temperature-sensitive products via our state-of-the-art fully automated hub in Doha.”
The newly launched freighter routes will bring in the carrier’s complete freighter to 12 destinations in the Americas, while contributing to belly-hold services to 13 cities on the continent.
